The restaurant's atmosphere is invigorated by an attentive staff dedicated to ensuring a stellar dining experience. Whether you're seated inside among the historical decor or enjoying a summer evening on the patio, the ambiance at Louie’s sets the stage for an unforgettable meal.

The appetizers truly shine here. A standout is the Lobster Shrimp Bisque, a luxurious creamy concoction that enchants with its depth of flavor. The Hand-Rolled Burrata, drizzled with white truffle honey, provides a rich, sweet contrast, while the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake served with chipotle aioli highlights the restaurant's commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients.

  • Raw Bar Selection: Indulge in the freshness of East and West Coast Oysters, or treat yourself to the opulence of American Sturgeon Caviar. The Lobster Cocktail is a particular delight for seafood lovers.
  • Salads: Signature salads like the Mixed Market Greens and Kale Caesar are vibrant and packed with flavor, complementing any meal perfectly.

While the appetizers provide a stellar start, the main courses, especially the steaks and seafood, deserve equal attention. Diners rave about the porterhouse steak, but it’s the seared scallops that often steal the spotlight with their exquisite flavor and perfect sear. The sides, including truffle fries and the seafood mac n' cheese, add even more indulgence to the experience.

Guests have noted that Louie's is particularly lively during the summer. Outdoor dining on the patio provides a stunning view of the water, making it a prime spot for enjoying a meal and refreshing cocktails. This was my first visit here for a special event and it was lovely! The staff were fabulous and attentive, the food was delicious and the space was great as we celebrated with friends and family at my cousin's baby shower. The burrata was delicious as was the chicken francese. I sampled a few of the appetizers they were passed around and they were great, too!

Went for lunch on a summer Friday afternoon and dined on their waterfront patio. The seafood is fresh and delicious. Everything we had was pretty good except the lobster roll which was fine but not the best that I've have. It was pretty busy, be service was prompt which was good. This place. Doesn't accept reservations in the summer, and I hear the wait times can be up to 3 hrs on a weekend so keep that in mind and plan accordingly. We went on a less busy day and were seated quickly.

I came here on a beautiful clear skied summer day. I was so pleased to be taken care of by Mr. Leo. He has such a kind wise and friendly soul. The food was delicious, sparkling water, Summer Fashion cocktail, caesar salad with grilled shrimp, and flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream....yum! But above all, the warm ambiance, the soft breeze, the gentle lapping water, the delicious food....above all, I appreciated the warm kinda attention from Mr. Leo, my server. I will definitely come back again. Strongly recommend!!

Great place for dinner in Port Washington! The service here was fantastic, and the overall experience was top-notch. The price is a bit high for the amount of food, but everything tasted great. We started off the meal with several appetizers including the raw oysters, burrata, and the octopus salad. we really like all these appetizers. For the main course, we ordered the porterhouse steak for two people, Ahi tuna, and the seared scallops. I enjoyed the steak but it wasn't anything extra special. The scallops were really delicious! We are so got a variety sides, including the mac & cheese, brussels sprouts (toasted to perfection), truffle fries (good texture and taste), and the mashed potatoes (mediocre). For the desserts, I enjoyed the pecan pie and the Creme brûlée. The cheese cake was also great. I didn't like the molten chocolate cake as much as I expected. Lastly, the view from the restaurant is one of a kind, especially during sunset!

2024's Long Island Restaurant week brought us to Louie's on 2/4. A party of four, reservations were made via OpenTable. Upon arrival they were nice enough to seat me without the full party, I just happened to arrive first. Let's start with menu options. Louis's by far offered the most menu options for restaurant week participation that I have ever seen. There were multiple options to choose from for every course and they offered a glass a wine with your entrée for just $3. I went with the shrimp tacos as my app and additionally I ordered the lobster shrimp bisque. Tacos were good and larger than one might expect, which was nice. The bisque was just ok, hardly no seafood in it at all. A couple of the other apps at the table were fried calamari, crispy eggplant & zucchini chips and a wedge salad. For entrée's I ordered the whole branzino and my dinning companions ordered two marinated skirt steaks and the shrimp wendy. Additionally on the table was a side of seafood Mac n cheese, that we swapped for the mash potatoes. The food was delish but between the bread, cocktails, appetizers and wine we were all already full. Collectively we decided to wrap up our food to-go and sample our desserts. We each went with either the chocolate mousse and crème brûlée. Both were light and refreshing but again we were too full to finish it. Overall Louie's left me totally impressed. I'm looking forward to coming across the bridge for my return visit, especially in the summer. The food was good, the service was great, and the company wasn't too bad. (Lol) Just A Note: They offer some pretty great deals outside of restaurant week. Summers on the waters, I imagined to be beautiful and the over plenty of parking with an additional lot across the street.

I haven't been to Louie's in YEARS. I'm surprised I didn't popped a review in earlier because I know I went during my early Elite days. The last time I went was actually for a business meeting. It impressed our potential clients at the time but I have heard mixed reviews since. That's why when friends suggested here for Long Island Restaurant week I jumped at the chance to go back. Louie's is a staple in Port Washington. Being right by the water it's such a great spot. Metered parking is available and there is parking by the docks. Summer gets crazy here, for obvious reasons, so you will want to plan accordingly in the future. Their restaurant week menu was LIT. Almost too many options to choose from. For some reason, I locked eyes with the BLT Wedge Salad. Not my usual style but I have to say, it was quite delish. You can definitely taste the applewood smoked bacon and a really good Gorgonzola was used in the making of this salad. Next course was the Shrimp Wendy. Six medium sized shrimp sat on a bed of crispy green beans. To dress the dish there was a creamy Dijon mustard sauce. Super delish and light. After our apps (apps also included warmed up bread and eggplant/zucchini chips). Then dessert - a classic crème brûlée. Simple yet tasty. We added a glass of wine to our meal for another $3. The Pinot noir that was featured was nice and crisp. The old fashioned that I also had prior too got sweeter as I sipped it. It was a very well made drink. Shout out to Milton and the manager for being so wonderful to us and also letting us just chill. After this last visit, I'm hoping it won't take me as long to get back to Louie's. Thanks for a lovely evening and for closing out Restaurant week with a bang!

I came to Louie's for lunch today after a friend suggested we meet and grab a bite in Port Jeff. It was my first time here, and not having looked the place up before arriving, I literally had no expectations coming in. I'm glad I didn't peek at the reviews because if I did, I might have suggested a different spot. As soon as I sat at our table, I was absolutely blown away by everything here. From the magnificent views and the incredible historical photos adorning the walls to the superb service and the buzz from fellow patrons, I knew lunch was going to be great. And great it was. Their $29 lunch special, which includes your choice of an app and an entree, was just what the doctor ordered. I opted for the lobster bisque soup and a grilled chicken Caesar salad. The lobster bisque was hot, hearty, and oh-so-flavorful--perfect for a cold day like today. The Caesar salad was crispy, refreshing, and rather filling, as it came with a very generous portion of chicken. If you're a boat aficionado like me, love being by the water, and enjoy delicious seafood, I suspect that you'll love Louie's too. Oh, and I heard from fellow patrons and long-time Port Jeff residents that their new owners have really turned this joint around. So if you're used to the previous version, you might want to come back and see how they've changed.
